Caribbean communicators on Facebook

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged, but I blame it on Facebook. Lol. Seriously though, Facebook is great for interacting and forming communities of interest, regardless of whether they’re fun interests or based on serious issues. People are also maximising Facebook’s power, especially for entertainment and events promotion. For example, there’s a big party coming up and so far just over 1,900 people have received direct invitations since they are members of the promoter’s group.
I recently started a group (about two weeks ago), Caribbean Communicators, and it’s coming along nicely. We have 28 members to date. The group is for anyone involved in communications in the Caribbean, based abroad and targeting Caribbean markets, and for those who are from the Caribbean but work abroad with no specific reach to the region. We’re talking public relations, marketing, advertising, publishing, media, design etc. So far, our group has a nice mix of these areas.
So, if you’re on Facebook, please come join us.

Hi Karel, you are obviously well versed on the topic of communication withtin the Caribbean context, I was wondering if you could help me. I am writing a comparative study on “The use of print media versus digital media by contemporary Caribbean university students, as a means of information gathering “. However, I am having trouble finding theories for my background section. Can you help?

Hmmm… well I don’t know your approach to the topic, so I can’t recommend theories off the top of my head. What I suggest you do is be certain about your approach, read up on your theories etc and the link between students’ behaviours and various theories should become apparent.
