PR is Dead! Whatever!

The other day I got really irritated when a friend invited me to join his newly created Facebook group, PR is DEAD!! LONG LIVE Advertising! It’s not that I took it personally. I just think this whole who’s better than who is a bunch of rubbish, and boils down to nothing more than the human ego trying to justify the role of his or her work and superiority in the scheme of life.

Think about it. Have you ever seen a marketing or advertising or public relations campaign that didn’t have an element of each other in it? Which is why I’m really not into the fight among these communication areas. They’re all equally important and strategic in their own way. I don’t care how many gurus claim that one is more important than the other, or how many articles continue to be written about it, because at the end of the day, an integrated communications campaign that incorporates the best of public relations, marketing and advertising tactics and strategies gives you the best chance of success.
