Abandoning my blog

It’s still a few weeks before Christmas, and I feel like a guilty Santa Claus. It’s been a while since I’ve fully dedicated myself to my blog, writing regularly, and staying on top of all things SEO for Caribbean Public Relations. I can blame it on being busy, and simply not having enough time at the end of the work day, personal projects, and gym, but I’ll take Akon up on his offer, and put the blame on him. He he.

While New Year resolutions have never been my thing, I really am resolute in dusting off my templates, and once more typing away on my beloved Mac to produce some great posts. As I type, my cell phone’s Notes folder is filled with little jots of this and that about ideas for posts, which I just never wrote. Events which I had also thought of posting about include Trinidad and Tobago’s recent general elections, which saw three public relations practitioners being elected as MPs, and they’re all serving as ministers now. One in particular, Mr Neil Parsanlal – the new Honourable Minister of Information and Public Administration – has called on communications professionals in the public sector to strive to communicate better with the public. Does this mean a revolution is coming in government communications? You tell me.

For 2008, the blog remains focused on its original objective which is to learn more about public relations in other Caribbean countries, and share this information. I’ve already tailored questionnaires. If you’re interested in taking part in my interview, please email me at caribbeanprblog@yahoo.com.

In the meantime, I’m going to try to clear the continuous pile of work on my desk, do my Christmas shopping bit by bit, and prepare my stomach for the wonderful gastronomy that Christmas brings. I really do want to get nice gifts under my tree this year, so I won’t promise to write another post before the year is out.

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you have a great one.
